How to get from Lisbon to the Caparica Surf Spots by car or public transport.

Car

Costa da Caparica is easily accessible by car. Take the A2 highway from the center to the south of Lisbon, cross the bridge and turn right at the first exit to Costa de Caparica, which is just 20 minutes from the city center.

Bus

If you don't have a car, you can get to the surf spots by public transport. Lines 3709 from Marquês do Pombal and 3710 from Sete Rios take you directly from the center of Lisbon to Costa da Caparica, with a few stops along the way.

Train

Take the train at Sete Rios, the train crosses the Tagus Bridge and leaves Pragal in 11 minutes. From Roma-Areeiro station, on Avenida Roma, the train takes 17 minutes, and from Campolide, just 8 minutes.

Once in Pragal, south of Lisbon, there is a direct bus to Costa da Caparica.

Boat

You have two options: Cais do Sodré and Belém

From Cais do Sodré to Cacilhas

Departures from Cais do Sodré are regular during the week, with a boat every 10 minutes. At weekends and on public holidays, there are around three trips per hour in each direction (see timetables).

From Cacilhas to Costa da Caparica

From Belém to Trafaria

Departures from Belém on weekdays are about once an hour (see timetables). You can take the ferry with your car or motorcycle.
